Driftwaver — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

Driftwaver is a meditation and focus audio app for Android phones and Android TV (com.driftwaver.music). This policy describes what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.

What we do not collect

Driftwaver has no user accounts and no sign-in. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software of any kind. It does not read your device identifier, advertising ID, location, contacts, calendar, photos, call logs or messages, and it has no permission to do so. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing to sell.

What stays on your device

Your settings, saved presets, saved prompts, and the list of tracks you have added or downloaded are stored locally on your device only. Generated and downloaded audio files are saved on your device (generated tracks go to Downloads/Driftwaver). None of this is sent to us.

What leaves your device

WhatWhere it goesWhy
The text description you type for AI music generation, and the track length you choose Our processing service (Cloudflare Workers), which forwards it to the cloud GPU service where the models run (RunPod) It is the instruction the music is generated from. There is no way to generate a track without sending it.
A request for the music catalogue or for a specific track file Our content delivery storage (Cloudflare R2) To list and download the built-in and cloud music library
Purchase and subscription state Google Play Billing To unlock and restore paid features. Payment details are handled entirely by Google Play; the app never sees your card or billing information.
Your Play purchase token, and a random identifier the app generates for itself Our processing service (Cloudflare Workers), which checks it with Google Play To confirm a subscription is genuine and current before running a generation, and to count generations against the monthly allowance. The random identifier is created on your device, contains nothing about you or your phone, and means nothing outside this app. We still never see your card or billing information.
A Play Integrity token issued by Google Our processing service, which asks Google to decode it To check the request comes from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app rather than a script. The token is produced and read by Google; we pass it through and keep nothing from it.

All of this travels over HTTPS.

About the AI prompt text

This is the one piece of content you author that leaves your device, so it deserves to be spelled out. The description you write leaves our systems and is processed on a third-party cloud service (RunPod), where the audio models run, and it may appear in that service's operational logs. Please do not put personal, confidential or identifying information into it — it is a description of music, and nothing else needs to be there.

We do not store your prompts on our servers beyond what is needed to pass the request through and return the audio; the text itself is not kept. The audio generated from it is kept — see below.

What we keep, and for how long

WhatWhereHow long
The audio of each AI track you generate Our storage (Cloudflare R2) 7 days, then deleted automatically (the sweep runs on daily boundaries, so removal can fall a few hours later). It is written there so that a dropped connection or a closed app cannot lose you a track you have already waited and paid for, and so a later launch can still collect it; after that window it is removed whether or not it was collected. Reading it requires an authenticated request from the app; it is not published or browsable. It is stored under the generation's own id, not under any identifier of yours. If you are a subscriber, a copy is also kept in your TV cloud library — see Driftwaver for Android TV.
A count of generations and seconds used in the current period Our processing service For the length of the billing period, then reset. It is held against a one-way hash of the random identifier above, so it is a tally, not a history: it records how much has been used, never what was generated or when.
Short-lived working copies: the result of a purchase check, and a note of which generation belongs to which allowance Our processing service 10 minutes and 1 hour respectively, then deleted automatically.

Nothing here needs a request from you to disappear: the audio expires on its own, and the tally resets with the period. If you would like a generated track removed sooner, write to us with its generation id — the same id the Report content button includes — and we will delete it.

Driftwaver for Android TV

The TV app plays the same built-in music and tones. It adds a cloud library: music you send from your phone to the TV, and, for subscribers, the AI tracks you generate. The TV plays it by streaming from our storage and keeps only a limited cache of recently played tracks on the TV itself.

WhatWhereHow long
Audio files you send from your phone to the TV (by scanning the QR code the TV shows), with their file names, sizes and the date they arrived Our storage (Cloudflare R2), through our processing service (Cloudflare Workers) Until you delete them on the TV, or until the library is deleted as described below. Files are private to the library they were sent to; they are not published, shared or listened to by us.
For subscribers: a copy of each AI track you generate and download Our storage (Cloudflare R2) As for files you send, so your AI tracks are still on your TV after the 7-day copy above has expired.
Who a library belongs to: for a subscriber, a one-way hash of the Play account the subscription belongs to, and the Play purchase token; for a TV without a subscription, a random identifier the TV app is given the first time it starts Our processing service As long as the library exists. The purchase token is kept so we can ask Google Play whether the subscription is still active before deleting a library; a record linking the token to its library expires after 200 days.
A short code that links a phone to the TV for sending files Our processing service Works only while the TV shows it; it stops accepting new files as soon as you leave that screen, and expires within the hour.

Deleting. Deleting a track on the TV — or the whole library, with Delete my cloud library — first moves it to Recently deleted, where it can be restored for 30 days. After that it is deleted for good, so a deletion takes full effect within 30 days. Write to us if you need it gone sooner.

Automatic deletion. A subscriber's library is deleted 90 days after the subscription ends (we ask Google Play first, so a renewed subscription keeps it). A library without a subscription is deleted 60 days after the TV last used it.

Anyone who can use your TV can see, play and delete the tracks in its cloud library, and add to it while the TV shows its code — as with any other content on a shared TV. Your IP address is used briefly to limit how often a code can be tried or a new TV registered; we do not store it.

AI-generated content

Tracks produced by the AI feature are generated by machine-learning models from your description. Output can be unpredictable. If a generated track is offensive or otherwise objectionable, please report it using the Report content button shown beside a finished track, or write to the address below. Include the generation ID shown in the report so we can trace it.

Children

Driftwaver is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your choices

Almost everything the app stores about you is on your device. Uninstalling Driftwaver removes it, except for audio files you chose to save to your Downloads folder, which remain yours to keep or delete.

There is no account and no profile: we hold no name, address, email or device identifier, so there is nothing of that kind to export or erase. What we do hold is listed above — generated audio, which deletes itself after 7 days, a usage tally against a random identifier, which resets each period, and, if you use the TV app, its cloud library, which you can delete from the TV and which also deletes itself as described above. Write to us if you want a generated track removed sooner; uninstalling the app abandons the random identifier, and with it the tally.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the updated version will be published at this address.
